One Killed, Four Injured in ‘Accidental’ Blast Near Gulmarg

Baramulla, June 27, KNT: One person was killed and four others sustained injuries after a blast-like incident was reported near Asha Post in the Sumli Wali Dhok area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday afternoon.

Official sources identified the deceased as Zabir Ahmad Bajad, a resident of Galibal, Chandoosa in Baramulla, who died on the spot in the incident.

The four injured persons were shifted for medical treatment. Their identities and the nature of their injuries were not immediately available.

The incident occurred in an area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gulmarg. Soon after the explosion was reported, police and other security agencies rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.

Officials said the exact nature and cause of the blast are yet to be ascertained. They added that all possible angles are being examined and further details are awaited. [KNT]
