Srinagar, Feb 13, KNT: Kashmiri cricketer Parvez Rasool expressed gratitude after being picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹95 lakh in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, saying he hopes to make the most of the opportunity.

Speaking to a Srinagar-based news agency, Rasool said he was thankful to Almighty Allah for the development and remained focused on performing well in the tournament.

“I have no regrets that I did not get a chance to represent India. These are decisions taken by management and I welcome them,” Rasool said, adding that cricket remains his passion and he aims to meet the expectations of people in Kashmir.

He said he was hopeful of getting more opportunities in the upcoming IPL season compared to the previous year and intended to give his best to Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was then led by Shikhar Dhawan.

“I believe in playing the game and playing it well. I will work hard and perform to my ability,” he said.

Rasool also thanked his parents and supporters in Kashmir for their encouragement and said he would strive not to disappoint them.

Reflecting on his performances, he said he was satisfied with his outings in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments and was working toward improving further.

At the time, seven cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir were part of the IPL auction list, including Samiullah Beigh, Abid Nabi, Ram Dayal, Ian Dev Singh, Shubham Khajuria, and Umar Nazir.[KNT]
