Srinagar, Aug 10, KNT: Security arrangements have been stepped up across Srinagar ahead of Independence Day, with police personnel intensifying frisking, vehicle checks and surveillance at different locations in the city.

Security personnel were seen checking vehicles and their occupants at various points as part of the heightened security measures ahead of Aug 15.

The checking included inspection of vehicles and frisking of individuals, with personnel maintaining a close watch on movement along busy roads and commercial areas.

The heightened security presence comes ahead of Independence Day, with authorities increasing preventive measures to monitor movement and maintain security across the city.

Motorists and commuters have been subjected to checks at several locations, while security personnel continue to maintain a visible presence in Srinagar as part of the arrangements for the national event. [KNT]
