Police Seize Contraband in North Kashmir, Accused Booked Under NDPS Act

Bandipora, April 13, KNT: Police recovered approximately 600 grams of a substance suspected to be charas from an individual during routine naka checking at Vijpara in Hajin area of Bandipora on Monday.

The recovery was made during checking operations, as part of ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking in the region.

The accused has been identified as Mehraj Ud Din Beig, son of Abdul Rashid Beig, a resident of Vijpara.

The development highlights continued enforcement action by police against drug-related activities, with naka points being used to intercept contraband movement.

Police said a case under FIR No. 47/2026 has been registered at Police Station Hajin under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.

Further investigation into the matter has been initiated. [KNT]
