India on Tuesday condemned the attack in Fujairah (UAE) that injured three Indian nationals, calling it “unacceptable” and urging an immediate cessation of hostilities in the region.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said it was concerned over the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians, and emphasized the need to prevent further escalation.
The reaction comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region, where recent exchanges have raised concerns over maritime security and regional stability, particularly around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.
India reiterated its position in favor of dialogue and diplomacy to address the situation, stating that peaceful engagement remains the only viable path to restore stability across West Asia.
The statement also underscored the importance of ensuring free and unimpeded navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with international law, given its critical role in global energy and trade routes.
India said it stands ready to support all efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing situation.
