
Jammu, March 14, KNT: The Jammu Railway Division of Northern Railway has decided to extend the operational period of the special reserved train operating between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in view of the surge in passenger traffic and for the convenience of pilgrims visiting the shrine.
Officials said the special train service, numbered 04081/04082, was initially introduced to cater to increased demand from passengers travelling to the Vaishno Devi shrine.
The decision to extend its operational period was taken after authorities observed a steady rise in passenger movement on the route.
Railway officials said the extension aims to facilitate devotees and other passengers travelling to the holy town of Katra.
The special train connects New Delhi with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, one of the major pilgrimage destinations in the region, attracting thousands of devotees throughout the year.
Officials said the service has been receiving a positive response from passengers, particularly pilgrims visiting the shrine.
The Northern Railway has been operating special trains and additional services during periods of increased passenger demand to ensure smooth travel arrangements for devotees.
