NEWS AGENCY KASHMIR NEWS TRUST #KNT

Srinagar, April 8, KNT: Traffic authorities in Srinagar on Tuesday announced that vehicular movement from Aalimasjid towards Soura will be blocked from Thursday, following the start of road work on the Dr Ali Jan Road stretch.

The restriction has been imposed as the UEED department begins construction work from Aali Masjid towards Zoonimar, affecting one of the key traffic corridors in the city.

SSP Traffic Srinagar City Ajaz Ahmad said that traffic from Aalimasjid towards Soura shall remain closed with effect from Thursday, while a diversion plan has been put in place to manage movement in adjoining areas.

According to the advisory, vehicles coming from Sakidafar will be diverted towards Hawal at the Aalimasjid crossing. However, traffic moving from Soura towards Sakidafar will continue to ply normally through the existing route.

Authorities said the ongoing work is likely to cause congestion and slow movement along the affected stretch, particularly during peak hours.

Commuters have been advised to follow the designated diversions and use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

The advisory comes as part of ongoing infrastructure works in Srinagar, with officials seeking public cooperation to ensure smooth execution of the project. [KNT]
