Srinagar, April 23, KNT: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Quick Reaction Team resumed search operations on Thursday in the River Jhelum to trace and retrieve the body of an unidentified person who had jumped from Budshah Bridge a day earlier.

The search operation, led by SDRF QRT Jhelum, was restarted early in the day following suspension overnight due to low visibility and safety concerns, officials said.

According to available information, the unknown individual had reportedly jumped into the river from Budshah Bridge yesternight, triggering an immediate response from rescue teams. However, despite initial efforts, the body could not be located on the same day.

Officials said that trained SDRF personnel equipped with necessary rescue gear and boats are combing the river stretch in an attempt to locate the body. The operation is being carried out in coordination with local police.

The identity of the person remains unknown so far, and no further details have been confirmed by officials regarding the circumstances leading to the incident.  [KNT]
