Soldier Found Dead at Rashtriya Rifles Headquarters in Surankote

Poonch, June 18, KNT: An Army jawan was found dead at the headquarters of 16 Rashtriya Rifles in the Draba area of Surankote in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district during the early hours of Thursday.

Officials said the soldier was on night duty when he was found dead at his post under circumstances that are yet to be ascertained.

The deceased has been identified as Naik B.D. Rao of 16 Rashtriya Rifles.

Following the incident, the body was shifted to Government Sub-District Hospital Surankote for medico-legal formalities and other necessary procedures.

Officials said the exact cause of death will be determined after completion of the required examination and investigation. [KNT]
