Srinagar, July 5, KNT: In a significant boost to the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra, Indian Railways has introduced special train services to facilitate the movement of pilgrims by providing direct rail connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar.

The special services have been launched to ease the travel of devotees undertaking the annual pilgrimage, offering a faster and more convenient mode of transport to Kashmir.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at ensuring smooth movement of pilgrims while reducing travel time and enhancing overall connectivity during the yatra period.

The introduction of the special trains is expected to benefit thousands of devotees travelling to the Valley for the annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave, besides easing pressure on the road network.

The move comes amid elaborate arrangements by the civil administration, security agencies and various departments to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage. [KNT]
