Jammu, June 2, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department has cancelled the Motor Vehicle Aggregator License issued to ANI Technologies Private Limited, which operates the OLA platform, after authorities found its Jammu branch office non-functional and non-traceable.

The cancellation order effectively revokes OLA’s aggregator license in Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect.

According to the cancellation order issued by Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan, JKAS, Motor Vehicle Aggregator License No. 0001 dated September 21, 2023 issued to ANI Technologies Private Limited has been cancelled under provisions of the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules, 2023.

The company had been granted the license subject to compliance with operational conditions laid down under S.O. 453 dated August 29, 2023.

Officials stated that OLA had declared its registered office in Bengaluru and a branch office at ABC Building, New Plot, Jammu near Krishna Building.

However, the department recorded the status of the Jammu branch office as “non-functional” after an inspection conducted by the Regional Transport Officer, Jammu on December 13, 2024 reportedly found the office non-traceable.

The order noted that the company had failed to operationalize the registered branch office and had not commenced operations from the declared premises.

Authorities further stated that three show-cause and suspension notices were served upon the organization on different dates seeking clarification regarding the alleged violations.

The Transport Department said no response had been received from the company despite issuance of notices.

“In view of the facts and circumstances,” the Transport Commissioner exercised powers under Rule 19(1) of the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Rules, 2023 and ordered cancellation of the license with immediate effect. [KNT]
