U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that “hell will rain down” on Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened by Monday, amid escalating military tensions in the region.

The warning comes as the United States continues its search for the weapons officer of a fighter jet shot down over Iran, with the operation entering its second day.

The developments mark a sharp escalation in the conflict, with both sides reporting strikes, counterattacks and military losses across multiple locations.

Iran said it had downed two U.S. warplanes, claiming one was brought down in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, while another crashed in the Gulf.

Meanwhile, U.S.-Israeli strikes targeted key infrastructure in Iran, including two petrochemical plants in the southern Khuzestan province.

One person was reported killed in a separate strike on the Bushehr nuclear site.

The United Arab Emirates said it faced the brunt of Iranian retaliation across Gulf Cooperation Council countries, reporting that it intercepted 23 ballistic missiles and 56 drones in a single day.

The situation remains fluid, with military activity continuing across the region as tensions rise further.
