Tanvir Sadiq Urges Govt to Felicitate J&K Team After Historic Ranji Final Entry

Jammu, Feb 18, KNT: As the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team scripted history by qualifying for the final of the Ranji Trophy, ruling party MLA from Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq on Wednesday urged the government to formally felicitate the players in recognition of their landmark achievement.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Sadiq said the team’s performance has brought pride to Jammu and Kashmir and deserves official acknowledgment. He requested the government to organize a felicitation ceremony and extend incentives to the players as a gesture of appreciation.
“Something should be given to these players so that they get encouraged,” the MLA said, adding that recognition from the government would boost morale and inspire future generations of cricketers in the Union Territory.
Sadiq also expressed confidence that the team would continue its winning momentum in the summit clash. He said the historic entry into the final has already marked a new chapter in the region’s sporting history and hoped that the side would go on to clinch the title.
The J&K team reached the Ranji Trophy final for the first time in its 67-year participation in the premier domestic cricket tournament, a milestone widely hailed across the political and sporting spectrum. [KNT]
