Tata Mobile Hits Parked Truck in Banihal, One Dead and Another Injured

Banihal, May 21, KNT: One person died and another sustained injuries after a Tata Mobile collided with a stationary truck at Kharpora Chowk in Banihal area of Ramban district during the early hours of Thursday, officials said.

The accident involved a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK01AS-5495 and a parked truck bearing registration number PB10AS-1453.

Officials said the Tata Mobile was travelling from the Srinagar side when it met with an accident after hitting the stationary truck at Kharpora Chowk.

The collision left both the driver and conductor of the Tata Mobile seriously injured.

The injured persons were immediately evacuated to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for treatment.

However, one of the injured, identified as Bashir Ahmed, succumbed to injuries at the hospital, officials said.

The condition and identity of the second injured person were not immediately known.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the collision. [KNT]
