Teenager Dies After Being Retrieved From Srinagar Stream

Srinagar, July 16, KNT: A teenage boy died after being retrieved from the Doodh Ganga stream near Bulbul Bagh in Srinagar and shifted to hospital in a critical condition on Thursday.

Officials said a police party recovered the boy, believed to be around 16 years of age, from Doodh Ganga near the gauge point at Bulbul Bagh and rushed him to SMHS Hospital in an unconscious condition.

Hospital sources said the teenager was admitted in a critical condition but later succumbed despite medical efforts.

A police official said that they are ascertaining the identity of the victim. However, sources identified him as
Anayat Qasim of Batamaloo Srinagar.

Police have initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. [KNT]
