Teenager Dies After Sign Board Falls on Him in South Kashmir’s Doru

Anantnag, May 13, KNT: A teenage boy died in an accidental incident after allegedly coming under an MGNREGA sign board in Shistergam area of Doru in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Aasif Hussain Rather alias Padi, son of Ghulam Mohammad Rather, a resident of Shistergam, aged around 15 to 16 years.

Officials said the boy sustained serious injuries after the sign board reportedly fell on him at Shistergam.

Locals immediately shifted him to Sub-District Hospital Qazigund for treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident. [KNT]
