Kulgam, July 10, KNT: A minor boy drowned in the Vishow stream at Hassanpora Bagh in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday, officials said.
The incident occurred when the boy accidentally slipped into the stream and drowned. Local residents immediately launched a rescue effort and fished him out before shifting him to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Hazim Showkat, son of Showkat Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Hassanpora Bagh, Kulgam.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, while further proceedings have been initiated. [KNT]
