Governor Satya Pal Malik Congratulates Winning Candidates of Lok Sabha Polls from J&K
Srinagar, May 24, KNT: Governor Satya Pal Malik on Friday congratulated the winning candidates from Jammu and Kashmir in the Lok Sabha elections, the results of which were declared a day earlier.
In a message issued here, the Governor extended greetings to the newly elected Members of Parliament and expressed hope that they would work towards strengthening democratic institutions and promoting public welfare in the region.
Malik said the elected representatives carry an important responsibility to uphold democratic values and address the aspirations of the people.
According to an official spokesman, the Governor hoped that the newly elected MPs would focus on strengthening democratic processes at the grassroots level.
“He hoped that the elected representatives will strive for strengthening democratic values and institutions at the grassroots level, promote public welfare and work for the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir,” the spokesman said.
The Governor also expressed confidence that the elected MPs would contribute to the overall development of the Union Territory while representing the interests of the people in Parliament.
He extended his best wishes to the winners for a successful and productive tenure as Members of Parliament.
The Lok Sabha election results were declared on Thursday after the completion of voting across the country. [KNT]
