Udhampur, Sep 16, KNT: Two road works in Udhampur district have reached their seventh tender call, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s official e-procurement portal.
The latest tender notice includes macadamization of the Forest Link Road at Panchari, estimated at ₹30 lakh, and macadamization of the road from Higher Secondary School Jaganoo to Masjid and Gain Sweet Shop to Ravi Dass Mandir, estimated at approximately ₹27.22 lakh.
Both works were issued as seventh calls on September 12.
The repeated tender calls mean that the concerned works have now gone through multiple rounds of procurement before the latest attempt to secure bids.
The Forest Link Road Panchari project involves an estimated cost of ₹30 lakh, while the Jaganoo road work has an estimated value of about ₹27.22 lakh.
The official tender listings do not specify the reason why six earlier calls did not result in completion of the procurement process.
Other road works as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust appearing in the same government procurement records are also at repeated calls. These include works listed as third, second and other subsequent calls in different parts of Udhampur and adjoining areas.
The repeated tendering raises questions about the reasons behind delays in awarding such works and whether the tender conditions, estimated costs, contractor response or other procurement issues are contributing to the repeated calls.
The latest bids for the two seventh-call works are now being processed by the concerned authorities. [KNT]
