Wife of Former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig Joins National Conference

Srinagar, July 8, KNT: Safina Baig, wife of former Deputy Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) founding member Muzaffar Hussain Baig, on Wednesday joined the ruling National Conference

Safina Baig was formally inducted into the party in the presence of JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during a joining ceremony.

Welcoming her into the party fold, the National Conference leadership expressed confidence that her political experience and public outreach would further strengthen the organization.

Her induction is being viewed as a significant political development, particularly in north Kashmir, where Muzaffar Hussain Baig has remained an influential political figure for decades. Baig was among the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party and served as Deputy Chief Minister in the PDP-Congress coalition government. [KNT]
