Kulgam, July 14, KNT: Authorities have attached immovable properties worth nearly ₹1 crore belonging to two persons accused in a 2021 narcotics case in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, marking one of the latest asset attachment actions linked to alleged drug trafficking in the region.

The attached properties comprise two residential houses owned by Javid Ahmad Dar and Parvez Ahmad Dar, both residents of Kujjar village. The attachment was carried out by Police Station Yaripora following orders issued by the competent authority under the relevant legal provisions.

The action stems from FIR No. 10/2021 registered at Police Station Yaripora, in which investigators had recovered 200 kilograms of Fukki, a poppy derivative, during the investigation. The case has remained under legal process since then.

The attachment effectively bars the owners from transferring, selling or otherwise dealing with the properties without due legal process and forms part of the investigation into assets allegedly linked to the offence. [KNT]
