Gazi Ajaz Meets LG Manoj Sinha, Seeks Skill Development Push and Crackdown on Corruption in Budgam
Srinagar, July 19, KNT: Chairman of the Loul Cultural Foundation, Gazi Ajaz called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and raised a series of issues concerning youth welfare, skill development, sports infrastructure, and corruption in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
During the meeting, Gazi Ajaz stressed the need for a comprehensive skill development programme in Budgam, particularly in the district’s remote and far-flung areas. He urged the Lieutenant Governor to establish Skill Development Centres to equip local youth with employable skills and enhance their livelihood opportunities.
Highlighting the condition of sports in the district, he said sporting activities had remained neglected for years and called for the promotion of major sports events and the creation of better facilities to positively engage the younger generation.
Ajaz also expressed concern over what he described as growing frustration among the youth due to alleged corruption in several government departments. He identified certain departments where, according to him, corrupt practices had adversely affected public service delivery and urged the administration to take firm action against those involved.
He requested to the Lieutenant Governor to adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption and ensure transparency and accountability across government institutions.
Responding to the concerns, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha assured Gazi Ajaz that all the issues raised during the meeting would be examined seriously and that appropriate steps would be taken to address the genuine concerns highlighted by him. [KNT]
