The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced India’s squad for the upcoming Test tour of Sri Lanka, with Shubman Gill retaining the captaincy and KL Rahul appointed as vice-captain.
The squad comprises Shubman Gill (Captain), KL Rahul (Vice-Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant (Wicketkeeper), Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel (Wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Manav Suthar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Devdutt Padikkal and Saransh Jain.
The BCCI said the availability of Sai Sudharsan and Jasprit Bumrah will be subject to fitness clearance from the Board’s Centre of Excellence (COE).
Meanwhile, all-rounder Washington Sundar was not available for selection for the first Test of the series.
The tour is expected to mark another important assignment for the Indian Test side as it continues preparations for the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.
