Tyre of LPG Tanker Catches Fire on NH-44 Near Chanderkote

Ramban, August 4, KNT: The tyre of an LPG tanker caught fire on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Chanderkote in Ramban district on Tuesday, officials said.

The tanker was travelling from Jammu to Srinagar when one of its tyres caught fire, prompting personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local residents to respond to the incident.

Officials said the fire was extinguished before it spread further, and the LPG tanker remained undamaged.

Traffic on the highway was briefly affected during the firefighting operation and was restored after the situation was brought under control.

No casualties were reported in the incident, officials added. [KNT]
