August 5: Mehbooba Mufti Directs Party Cadre to Participate in Protests Across J&K

Srinagar, August 4, KNT: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for district-level protests across Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 in support of the restoration of Article 370 and the release of political prisoners.

According to an official notice issued by the party’s General Secretary (Organization), G.N. Lone Hanjura, the decision was taken by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti during a meeting attended by senior party leaders, MLAs, district presidents of the parent, women’s and youth wings, constituency in-charges, zonal presidents, zonal bodies and other office-bearers.

The notice directs all party functionaries to ensure their active participation in the protests to be held across the Union Territory on August 5.

The party has also instructed its workers to use only officially approved posters during the protests and asked all organizational units to ensure full participation while adhering to party directions.

August 5 marks the anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 and the reorganization of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019. [KNT]
