BSNL SIM Upgrade Leaves Kashmir Customers Struggling With Connectivity Problems
Srinagar, Aug 13, KNT: BSNL subscribers in Kashmir upgrading their SIM cards as part of the telecom company’s network transition say they are continuing to face connectivity problems, with some claiming that replacing their SIM cards more than once has failed to restore normal mobile service.
BSNL has been asking customers still using older 2G SIM cards to obtain upgraded SIMs from its customer service centres as the company upgrades its mobile network technology.
However, some subscribers who have followed the instructions and obtained new SIM cards say their problems have continued.
Several affected customers told KNT that even after replacing their SIM cards, callers attempting to reach their numbers are sometimes told that the numbers are switched off, despite the SIM cards being inserted and active in their phones.
One subscriber said the problem persisted even after obtaining a replacement SIM for the second time, raising questions over whether the issue is limited to the SIM cards or involves other aspects of the network or activation process.
The recurring problem has left some customers making repeated visits to BSNL customer service counters in an attempt to restore connectivity, but they say they have yet to receive a permanent solution.
The issue is particularly inconvenient for subscribers who continue to use their BSNL numbers for personal and official communication and rely on uninterrupted access to incoming and outgoing calls.
Affected customers have urged BSNL officials to examine the problem at the network and activation level rather than repeatedly asking subscribers to replace their SIM cards.
They have also sought a clear explanation from the telecom company on why upgraded SIM cards remain inaccessible to callers in some cases and appealed for prompt restoration of services. [KNT]
