Srinagar, Oct 31, KNT: Amid reports of closed-door meetings involving disgruntled National Conference legislators and some independent lawmakers, Independent MLA from Inderwal Pyare Lal Sharma has reiterated his loyalty to the National Conference and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, distancing himself from any such meetings.

Sharma said he had neither been part of any secret meeting nor would he participate in one, asserting that he would continue to support the National Conference and Omar Abdullah.

The developments come amid reported discontent among some NC legislators over their exclusion from the Council of Ministers. A closed-door meeting of legislators has drawn attention to possible differences within the party, although the details of the discussions have not been publicly disclosed.

When contacted by Kashmir News Trust, most of the NC legislators who reportedly attended the meeting declined to comment on what transpired during the discussions.

Sharma’s statement comes against this backdrop of reported internal discontent, as he publicly reaffirmed his support for the party leadership and the Chief Minister. [KNT]
