
Srinagar, Feb 20, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday placed Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Balbir Kumar, under suspension pending enquiry into his conduct.
According to Government Order No. 79-JK (Edu) of 2026 dated Feb 20, the officer has been suspended with immediate effect under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The order states that during the suspension period, Balbir Kumar shall remain attached with the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir.
The suspension order has been issued by the School Education Department from Civil Secretariat Jammu and signed by Commissioner Secretary School Education Ram Niwas Sharma.
Copies of the order have been forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary action. [KNT]
