Condemned BMW Gutted in Fire at Batamaloo Old Bus Stand

Srinagar, Feb 24, KNT: A condemned BMW vehicle parked at the old bus stand in Batamaloo area of Srinagar was damaged in a fire incident during Iftaar hours on Tuesday, officials said.

A Fire and Emergency Services official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the vehicle, which was reportedly out of use and kept in a scrap condition, caught fire, resulting in damage to its front portion.

“We received information during Iftaar time and immediately rushed a fire tender to the spot. The flames were brought under control promptly. However, the front portion of the car was gutted,” the official said.

The vehicle was reportedly in possession of a scrap dealer and had not been in operational use.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is being ascertained. [KNT]
