Srinagar, March 26, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that any effort aimed at ending the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel should be welcomed, asserting that dialogue remains the only viable path to peace.

Speaking to reporters, Abdullah said that if countries like Pakistan play a constructive role in facilitating dialogue and help bring an end to the war, there should be no objection to such efforts.

The remarks come at a time of heightened global tensions, with the conflict drawing international attention and raising concerns about regional stability and broader geopolitical implications.

“If Pakistan plays a role and if there is an end to the war, then you and I should not have any objection,” Abdullah said while interacting with reporters.

He added that if Pakistan maintains cordial relations with countries involved, including Israel and Iran, and if the United States Vice President is willing to engage in talks, such diplomatic efforts should be supported.

“If they have cordial relations with Israel and Iran, and if the US President goes there and is ready to talk, and if this war stops through dialogue, then I don’t think anybody should have any objection over this,” he said.

The Chief Minister emphasised that ending the conflict through peaceful means should be the priority, irrespective of which country facilitates the process.

His comments reflect a broader call for diplomatic engagement over military escalation, as global leaders continue to weigh options for de-escalation.

The Iran–US–Israel tensions have triggered widespread concern internationally, with calls growing for restraint and negotiations to prevent further escalation. [KNT]
