Jammu, March 28, KNT: Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday announced that Jammu and Kashmir is set to get its first government homeopathy college, to be established in the Rajbagh area of Kathua district.
The announcement was made through a social media post, where the minister described the development as a “major milestone” for the Union Territory.
The proposed college is expected to mark a significant step in expanding alternative medical education and improving access to affordable healthcare in the region.
According to the minister, the institution will not only strengthen medical services but also create new academic and career opportunities for local youth.
Officials said the move aligns with broader efforts to diversify healthcare systems and promote traditional and alternative medicine streams alongside conventional medical infrastructure.
The initiative is also seen as part of ongoing measures to enhance educational facilities in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in underserved areas. [KNT]
