Airtel, Netflix Invite Viewers to Honour Indian Air Force Through Stories of Courage, Sacrifice and Service

This Independence Day, Airtel IPTV and Netflix are bringing stories of courage, sacrifice and national service to viewers through a special watchlist led by Operation Safed Sagar and a nationwide #MillionThankYou tribute to the Indian Air Force.

Inspired by the Golden Arrows Squadron of the Indian Air Force and its role during the 1999 Kargil War, Operation Safed Sagar revisits the courage and precision of air warriors who served during one of the most challenging military campaigns in the country’s recent history.

As part of the initiative, Airtel and Netflix are inviting people across India to express their gratitude to the Indian Air Force under the message #MillionThankYou.

Airtel has set up Thank You Stations across 11 cities in 10 states, while people unable to visit the stations can participate through a dedicated WhatsApp journey from anywhere in India.

Users can send a message of gratitude on WhatsApp at +91 92895 59403 and watch Operation Safed Sagar as part of the campaign.

The Independence Day watchlist also features seven other films spanning themes of courage, duty, sacrifice, national security, history and resilience.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, ZEE5: Set against the backdrop of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the film highlights the courage of staff at Cama Hospital who continued serving people during the crisis.

Patriot, ZEE5: The political thriller explores surveillance, political influence, privacy and the systems involved in national security.

Main Vaapas Aaunga, Netflix: Set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition, the film explores love, separation, memory and the enduring connection with one’s homeland.

Sajjan Singh Rangroot, Chaupal: The Punjabi war drama follows a Sikh soldier serving in the British Indian Army during World War I, focusing on duty, loyalty and the personal cost of war.

Rang De Basanti, Amazon Prime Video: The film follows a group of young people whose engagement with the stories of India’s freedom fighters inspires them to take a stand for what they believe in.

Amaran, Netflix: Based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, the film portrays his journey of duty, service and sacrifice during his posting in the Kashmir Valley.

Razakar: The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad, Aha: The Telugu period drama examines the Hyderabad Liberation Movement and events surrounding the integration of Hyderabad into India.

Airtel said its IPTV service provides access to more than 25 streaming applications, over 650 live television channels and an extensive on-demand library through a single entertainment platform. Airtel IPTV plans start at ₹699.

The #MillionThankYou campaign is positioned as an opportunity for viewers to move beyond simply watching stories of service and sacrifice and participate in a nationwide expression of gratitude to the Indian Air Force.
