Srinagar Drug Bust: Three Held with Brown Sugar, Codeine During Nocturnal Check in Srinagar outskirts

Srinagar, April 25, KNT: Police in Srinagar apprehended three alleged drug peddlers during late-night naka checking at Shalteng on the outskirts of the city, recovering narcotic substances from their possession.

The operation was carried out by Police Station Parimpora, which intercepted the individuals during routine checking and conducted a search on the spot.

The accused have been identified as Ghulam Muhammad Wani, a resident of Wangipora Sumbal; Aqib Ahmad Dar, a resident of Malroo; and Younis Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Parimpora. Parentage details have not been disclosed.

During personal search, police recovered approximately 5 grams of brown sugar and one bottle of codeine-based syrup from their possession.

A case under FIR No. 55/2026 has been registered at Police Station Parimpora under Sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act, and investigation has been initiated.

Police officials said further links and supply chains connected to the accused are being probed as part of the investigation. [KNT]
