Shopian, April 29, KNT: Authorities on Wednesday demolished shops belonging to two accused in a narcotics case in Wachi area of Zainapora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Officials including Sub-Divisional Magistrate Zainapora, Naib Tehsildar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Zainapora and Station House Officer Zainapora reached the locality and carried out the demolition action.
The structures demolished were identified as shops belonging to Ab Hamid Ganie, a resident of Wachi, and Mohd Ramzan Ganie, also a resident of the same village.
The action was taken in connection with the alleged involvement of the two individuals in a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Officials said the move forms part of ongoing efforts to act against individuals linked to narcotics-related activities and dismantle networks associated with drug trafficking.
The demolition was carried out in the presence of civil and police officials, with authorities overseeing the operation on the ground. [KNT]
