Traffic Police Divert Gurez, Srinagar-Bound Vehicles Amid Bandipora Anti-Drug Rally

Bandipora, May 24, KNT: Traffic Police Rural Kashmir on Sunday issued an advisory announcing traffic restrictions and diversions in Bandipora district on May 25 in view of a mega anti-drug awareness rally being organized under the nationwide anti-drug campaign.

According to the advisory issued by the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Kashmir, movement of vehicular traffic from Kaloosa Bridge Bandipora to Nasoo Bus Stand Crossing Bandipora will remain completely suspended from 4:00 am to 3:00 pm on May 25.

Traffic police said the restrictions are being imposed to facilitate smooth conduct of the rally and ensure public safety during the event.

As per the diversion plan, Srinagar, Sopore and Baramulla-bound traffic coming from Gurez will be diverted at Sonarwani Bridge via Wangam, Koil Muqam and Sopore towards Baramulla and Srinagar, and vice versa.

The advisory further stated that traffic movement along the Ganderbal-Bandipora road via Pandach, T-Chowk, Barsoo and Ajas will also remain affected during the specified period.

Authorities advised motorists to avoid unnecessary travel in Bandipora town and along the affected routes until culmination of the event. [KNT]
