Srinagar, May 24, KNT: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed Ur Rehman Para on Sunday drew a comparison between Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, saying Ladakh had achieved in seven years what Jammu and Kashmir could not accomplish in seven decades.
In a post on X, Para referred to Ladakh’s political developments and said the region, despite having a small population, succeeded in persuading the Government of India.
“What Ladakh achieved in 7 years, we failed to achieve in 70. A population of barely 3 lakh persuaded the Government of India, J&K couldn’t,” Para wrote.
He further said that Jammu and Kashmir should draw lessons from Ladakh’s experience.
“There’s a lesson for Jammu & Kashmir,” he added.
Para’s remarks come amid continuing political discussions over constitutional safeguards, representation and governance-related demands in Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
