
Srinagar, May 30, KNT: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday inaugurated the third edition of the Kashmir Literature Festival in Srinagar and called upon writers and intellectuals to shape positive discourse and present what he described as India’s true history, culture and achievements to global audiences.
The remarks highlighted the administration’s emphasis on literature and intellectual engagement as instruments for social reflection and narrative-building, with the Lieutenant Governor stressing the responsibility of writers in influencing public thought and preserving historical understanding.
Addressing the gathering, Sinha said writers must play a constructive role in countering distorted narratives and contribute toward restoring historical accuracy through impactful and responsible writing.
He said literature possesses the power to inspire societies, influence generations and strengthen civilizational values.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the importance of presenting India’s cultural richness, historical legacy and achievements before the world in a balanced and authentic manner.
Sinha said writers and literary voices should contribute to building positive discourse and support what he described as India’s evolving story through creative and meaningful expression.
