Anantnag, June 13, KNT: Anantnag Police on Saturday arrested two alleged drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered over 870 grams of charas and charas powder from their possession.
According to police, the first arrest was made by Police Station Utrasoo at Sheikhpora Chund, where a suspect identified as Mohammad Yousuf Magray was apprehended. During the search, police recovered approximately 715 grams of charas from his possession.
In a separate operation conducted at Khanpora Crossing, police arrested another suspect, identified as Javaid Ahmad Bhat. Officials said around 158 grams of charas powder was recovered during the operation.
Police have registered separate cases under FIR Nos. 56/2026 and 57/2026 and initiated further investigation into the matter.
The arrests form part of the ongoing drive against narcotics trafficking in the district, with authorities continuing efforts to identify supply networks and curb the circulation of drugs in the region.
