New Delhi/Tehran, June 24, KNT: The Embassy of India in Tehran on Wednesday issued a revised travel advisory for Indian nationals in light of recent developments and what it described as an improvement in the overall security situation in Iran.
In the advisory, the embassy said it had been closely monitoring the prevailing security situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran and had reviewed its guidance following recent positive developments.
Despite the reported improvement in conditions, the embassy advised Indian nationals to continue avoiding all non-essential travel to Iran until further notice.
Indian citizens currently residing in Iran, as well as those who may be required to travel to the country for unavoidable reasons, have been urged to exercise a high degree of caution, remain vigilant and maintain awareness of local developments.
The advisory also called upon Indian nationals to closely follow instructions issued by local authorities and rely on credible sources of information regarding the evolving situation.
The embassy further advised all Indian nationals presently in Iran, as well as those arriving in the country, to register their particulars with the Embassy of India in Tehran at the earliest opportunity.
Officials urged citizens to regularly monitor the embassy’s official website and social media platforms for updates and any further advisories that may be issued.
The advisory comes amid continued international attention on developments in the region, with diplomatic missions closely monitoring the security environment and issuing guidance to their citizens. [KNT]
