Massive Blaze Guts Vehicle Workshop in Kishtwar, Several Vehicles Reduced to Ashes

Kishtwar, July 2, KNT: A massive fire broke out at a denting and painting workshop in the Sangrabhatta area of Kishtwar on Thursday wee hours, destroying the establishment and reducing several vehicles to ashes.

The workshop, owned by Tanveer Ahmed, suffered extensive damage in the blaze, which engulfed the premises within a short span of time.

An official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that one Bolero, one Eeco, one Indigo car, one scooty and three power tillers parked inside the workshop were gutted in the fire, resulting in heavy financial losses.

Personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services, Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Red Cross Society, Kishtwar, and local residents rushed to the spot and launched a joint operation to bring the flames under control and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

After strenuous efforts, the blaze was brought under control. No loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire has not been ascertained, and the exact extent of the losses is being assessed. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident. [KNT]
