Gunshots Heard During Search Operation in Shopian’s Chanpora

Shopian, July 4, KNT: A search operation was launched by security forces in the Chanpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday following specific inputs about the movement of suspected militants in the area.

Officials said security forces cordoned off the locality and began a thorough search operation to trace the suspected militants.

During the operation, gunshots were heard from the area, although officials said it was not immediately clear whether these were warning shots or indicative of an exchange of fire.
