‘BJP, PDP Two Faces of Same Coin’: Tanvir Sadiq
Srinagar, Aug 17, KNT: National Conference leader Tanvir Sadiq on Monday accused the BJP and PDP of being “two faces of the same coin”, alleging that both parties were working in tandem while other voices were being restricted from holding protests.
Reacting to the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Sadiq questioned why the National Conference is never not being allowed to stage protests while BJP and PDP were able to organize demonstrations.
“We are not allowed to protest, but they are,” Sadiq said.
He also alleged that important files concerning Jammu and Kashmir were pending with authorities, including the Business Rules file and the reservation file, and said some matters were either lying with the Union Home Ministry or the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
“Our files are gathering dust either at the Home Ministry office or the LG Secretariat,” he alleged, referring to the pending issues.
Sadiq also criticized PDP president Mehbooba Mufti over her earlier political association with the BJP, saying Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had cautioned her against entering into an alliance with the party.
He said Omar had warned Mehbooba that the BJP was seeking to alter Jammu and Kashmir’s constitutional position, including Article 370 and the region’s special status, but she had proceeded with the alliance.
Sadiq further alleged that Mehbooba’s political position had made her another face of the BJP. [KNT]
