Cash Debits Without Dispensation at Mehjoor Nagar’s Defunct JK Bank ATM
Srinagar, July 25, KNT: Customers of Jammu and Kashmir Bank have expressed serious concern over a dysfunctional ATM at Mehjoor Nagar in Srinagar, alleging that the machine has remained out of service for several days while continuing to debit money from customers’ accounts without dispensing cash.
According to affected account holders, repeated attempts to withdraw money from the ATM have resulted in transactions being processed and the corresponding amounts being debited from their bank accounts, even though no cash was delivered.
Customers alleged that despite repeated complaints, the bank has failed to resolve the issue promptly, leaving many account holders anxious over delayed reversals of the debited amounts and the inconvenience caused by the faulty ATM.
Several people also complained that the bank’s response to the issue has been insensitive, alleging that there has been little urgency in restoring the ATM or addressing the grievances of affected customers.
Locals further claimed that the problem is not confined to the Mehjoor Nagar ATM alone, alleging that several JK Bank ATMs and Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) across Kashmir frequently remain non-functional, causing hardship to customers who depend on them for daily banking transactions.
The affected customers have urged the management of Jammu and Kashmir Bank to immediately restore the Mehjoor Nagar ATM, ensure prompt reversal of failed transactions, and improve maintenance of its ATM and CDM network to prevent recurring inconvenience to the public. [KNT]
