Jammu, May 29, KNT: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has cleared the way for recruitment of 669 Sub-Inspectors in Jammu and Kashmir Police, providing relief to aspirants and allowing the recruitment process to move forward.

The recruitment process pertains to 669 Sub-Inspector posts advertised by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) for the Police Department. The notification had attracted significant interest among candidates across the Union Territory.

The tribunal’s decision is being seen as a major development for aspirants awaiting progress in the recruitment process, which had faced legal scrutiny.

The JKSSB had issued the recruitment notification for the posts in the Police Department with selection to be conducted through written examination and other prescribed stages under the notified procedure.

The CAT order is expected to facilitate further movement in the recruitment exercise, though detailed legal and administrative implications are likely to become clearer after authorities formally respond to the ruling. [KNT]
