New Delhi, June 5, KNT: In a significant relief for displaced Kashmiri Pandit families residing in the national capital, the Delhi government has restored ration supplies and financial assistance benefits that had remained suspended for nearly two years.
The decision is expected to benefit a large number of migrant Kashmiri Pandit families who have been dependent on government-supported relief measures following their displacement from the Valley.
Roshan Lal, one of the migrant Pandits living in Delhi told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the suspension of ration and aid benefits had caused considerable hardship for many families, particularly senior citizens and economically vulnerable households.
With the restoration of the scheme, eligible beneficiaries will once again receive ration support and other relief assistance through the designated government mechanism.
He welcomed the move and described it as an important step towards addressing the concerns of migrant families who had repeatedly sought the resumption of welfare benefits.
The restoration of relief measures is expected to provide much-needed support to affected households and ease financial burdens faced by beneficiaries during the period of suspension. [KNT]
