Four Chargesheeted for Allegedly Securing Health Department Jobs With Fake Certificates

Srinagar, July 2, KNT: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kashmir, has filed a chargesheet against four individuals accused of fraudulently securing government jobs in the Health Department by allegedly using forged educational certificates, taking a decade-old recruitment fraud case a step closer to trial.
The chargesheet was presented before the Court of the Forest Magistrate, Srinagar, in connection with FIR No. 16/2014 registered under offences relating to cheating and forgery.
According to investigators, the case originated from allegations that the accused had obtained appointments in the Health Department after being selected by the erstwhile Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) on the strength of fake educational testimonials.
During the investigation, the Economic Offences Wing found that the certificates produced by the accused did not match official records and were allegedly forged. Following verification, their selections were cancelled.
The investigating agency alleged that the accused had secured government employment by deceiving the recruiting authorities through fabricated documents, resulting in the registration of the criminal case and subsequent investigation.
With the filing of the chargesheet, the matter will now proceed before the competent court for judicial determination.
The Crime Branch has also urged members of the public to remain vigilant against economic fraud and report such offences to the authorities. [KNT]
