Garbage Cleaning Drive Leads to Pistol Recovery in Srinagar Outskirts

Srinagar, April 24, KNT: A rusted pistol was recovered from a garbage dump near a girls’ higher secondary school in the Anchar area of Soura Srinagar after municipal sanitation workers alerted police during a routine cleaning operation on Friday.

The firearm was noticed by workers while clearing accumulated waste in the locality. Recognizing the object as a weapon, they immediately informed Police Station Soura.

Acting on the information, a police team reached the spot and secured the pistol. The weapon, described as rusted, was recovered from the garbage site without any reported incident.

Police have taken the recovered item into custody and registered a case under relevant sections of law.  [KNT]
