Srinagar, May 3, KNT: Peoples Democratic Party leader Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura on Sunday criticized the National Conference, accusing the party of adopting different positions in and out of power.

Speaking to reporters, Hanjura alleged that the National Conference changes its stance depending on whether it is in government or opposition.

He said the party was responsible for the introduction of the Public Safety Act in Jammu and Kashmir and accused it of misleading people on recent developments related to the Urdu language.

Hanjura claimed that while the National Conference denied issuing any order regarding the removal of Urdu, it had in fact issued such a directive but later withdrew it after the issue was highlighted by Iltija Mufti.

Referring to the tenure of former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, he said several initiatives, including the release of youth from prisons, cross-Line of Control trade, and an end to militia-related practices, were undertaken during that period.

The PDP leader questioned the contribution of the National Conference, alleging that the party prioritizes power over public welfare. [KNT]
