FAIMA Condemns Alleged Vandalism at District Hospital Pulwama, Seeks Police Action

Pulwama, June 2, KNT: The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has strongly condemned the alleged vandalism and intimidation reported at the District Hospital, Pulwama, on Sunday night, describing the incident as unacceptable and calling for immediate police intervention to ensure the safety of healthcare workers.
The incident drew attention after a video purportedly linked to the episode circulated widely on social media, triggering concern among medical professionals and hospital staff.
Reacting to the development, FAIMA said acts of vandalism and harassment directed at medical personnel or public servants could not be tolerated under any circumstances.
“Unacceptable vandalism and intimidation at District Hospital Pulwama on Sunday night,” FAIMA said while referring to the viral video.
The association further emphasized that intimidation of healthcare personnel adversely affects delivery of medical services and creates an atmosphere of fear within hospitals.
“Such harassment of public servants cannot be tolerated,” the association said.
FAIMA urged Jammu and Kashmir Police to take immediate cognizance of the matter and ensure adequate security arrangements for hospital staff.
The doctors’ body stressed the need for strict action to prevent recurrence of similar incidents and safeguard medical institutions from violence and intimidation. [KNT]
