Illegal Commercial Structure Linked to Alleged Drug Peddler Demolished in South Kashmir

Shopian, May 16, KNT: A joint team of Revenue officials and Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday demolished an allegedly illegal commercial structure belonging to a person accused in narcotics-related cases in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said.
The demolished structure was stated to belong to Showkat Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Rasool Wani, a resident of Sopat.
Officials said the action was carried out jointly by Revenue authorities and police after the structure was found to have been constructed illegally.
According to officials, the individual is allegedly involved in cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The demolition operation was carried out in the presence of officials from the civil administration and police department.
Authorities said the action forms part of ongoing measures aimed at tightening action against alleged drug peddlers and illegal activities linked to narcotics networks.
No law and order disturbance was reported during the demolition process.
Officials reiterated that action against narcotics-related activities and illegal constructions linked to accused persons would continue in accordance with law. [KNT]
